There are literally hundreds of free creative activities for young people to immerse themselves in during Cruinniú na nÓg 2021, it’s a great opportunity to try something new or showcase your talents.
In Connaught most of the events are delivered by the local Creative Ireland Programme teams, with huge support from community based creative practitioners working in the areas of arts, heritage and STEAM.
Let’s Get Writing
Sharpen your pencils and come out to Rory O’Connor Park in Tuam for an afternoon of creative writing with Patricia King, who will teach storytelling skills and share her work.
Young members of the Traveller community from Tuam have created their own original hip-hop track during a series of workshops, and they’ll premiere it in a music video along with a photo exhibition on June 12th.
Celebrating Children in Belmullet
Let’s gather together to celebrate the young people of Belmullet with a special outdoor storytime session in front of Áras Inis Gluaire.
Comic Arts Workshop
Sharpen your pencils for this fun workshop, as artist Wayne O’Connor shows you how to create characters like the ones in your favourite comics and graphic novels.
The Glens Street Session
Come enjoy some great tunes in the open air as the young musicians of Leitrim put on an outdoor session at the Glens Centre Manorhamilton.
Storytelling for Sensory Needs
An engaging programme for neuro-diverse children who need support with sensory regulation. Children will be encouraged to move around and be vocal alongside the stories and activities.
