There are literally hundreds of free creative activities for young people to immerse themselves in during Cruinniú na nÓg 2021, it’s a great opportunity to try something new or showcase your talents.
In Leinster most of the events are delivered by the local Creative Ireland Programme teams, with huge support from community based creative practitioners working in the areas of arts, heritage and STEAM. Here are some great events taking place around the province.
Character Creation Workshops
Learn about animation from the artists of Brown Bag Films studio. They’ll teach you how to create characters, give them personality traits, and bring them to life with movement.
Doodle Dún Laoghaire
Fun for the whole family as artist Tarsila Kruse teaches you to draw iconic sites including the pier, DLR LexIcon, Teddy’s, Scrumdiddly’s ice cream, yachts, parks, and seagulls.
Flying to Mars
Bring the whole family along for a night under the (virtual) stars where Dr. Niamh Shaw shares stories from her experience of space travel and fun facts about the constellations.
Imagining Bodies of the Future
Get curious about our connection to the natural world and use that inspiration to produce your own beautiful print using the cyanotype photographic process.
