A collaborative project with Galway Film Company focusing on film an animation with young film makers to explore creative story telling using animation apps and iPad technology.

A number of workshops will be held at Roscommon Arts Centre over the Summer months. The workshops will be in live action/film making and animation and suitable for 10-15 year olds. An interest in this field of work is forever growing and the workshops would hope to inspire interest the younger generation. Roscommon is a partner in the WRAP fund (Western Regional Audiovisual Producer's Fund) which is an initiative of the Galway Film Centre and the Western Development Commission. the objective of the WRAP fund is to facilitate the development of and investment in, film, television, gaming and animation in the Western region.

This will be an exciting way for young film makers to explore creative story telling and visual imagery using the Animation apps and iPad technology supplied by the GFC. The Tutors will work with participants on how to create their own images and characters and transform their drawings into short animated films.

Film Matters is put in place to achieve the aim set out in Roscommon's Culture and Creativity Strategy of supporting the film and animation industry for children and youth in the county and western region.
