Éigse Thomáis Uí Aodha

Éigse Thomáis Uí Aodha is an Irish-language cultural weekend in memory of Tomás Ó hAodha (1866-1935), a creative, literary and cultural personality of the Gaelic Revival at the turn of the 20th century and a native of Sráid na Cathrach (Miltown Malbay). The Éigse is designed to throw light on the cultural and creative Irish-language heritage of Clare.  This year's programme includes:

Léacht ón Dr Brian Ó Dálaigh, staraí agus údar 'Oidhreacht Mhichíl Choimín (1676-1760, údar Laoi Oisín ar Thír na nÓg) agus Ré na hAthbheochana.  The legacy of Micheál Coimín and the Gaelic Revival by Dr Brian Ó Dálaigh, historian and author.

Ceardlann Amhránaíochta Sean-Nóis leis an Dr Ciarán Ó Gealbháin, amhránaí, ceoltóir agus léachtóir agus údar ar an amhránaíocht thraidisiúnta, go háirithe ar thraidisiún na Déise. Workshop in Sean-Nós Singing with Dr Ciarán ÓGealbháin, singer, musician, and lecturer and author on traditional singing, particular on the Déise.

Taispeántas de Charlann phearsanta Thomáis, dá shaothar cruthaitheach agus den chéad Léarscáil Ghaeilge d'Éirinn riamh, a rinne Tomás le cabhair ó Phádraig Ó hAichir as Dún Saileach i 1906. Exhibition of the personal archive of Tomás, of his creative works and of the first ever Irish-language map of Ireland, produced by Tomás in 1906 with assistance from Pádraig Ó hAichir from Dunsallagh, Miltown.
