Goldsmith Winter Festival

The annual Goldsmith Winter Festival is a spin-off from the successful Goldsmith International Literary Festival, held on the June bank-holiday weekend. The winter festival consists of an evening of readings and performances based on the works of Oliver Goldsmith, Irish novelist, playwright and poet, who is best known for his novel The Vicar of Wakefield (1766).

The programme of the Winter Festival supports local participants with the aim to promote local interest in Goldsmith and his work in a very informal and accessible manner.
