Diswellstown Community Centre wish to host "A belated St Patrick's day celebration" for local families to come together to celebrate Irish culture at its best.
The purpose of the event is to give local families the opportunity to enjoy time together and experience Irish Culture in a festival atmosphere within their own community centre. The event will have a number of different workshops/activities running simultaneously over its duration to give it maximum appeal and interest for all attendees no matter what age they might be. Each room within the centre will host different elements of Irish culture including Traditional Irish music, Irish dancing, Irish speaking/storytelling, poetry readings, and Irish historical film documentaries to name a few. Families will be invited to participate or just to spectate.
Entertainment and light refreshments will be provided to add to the festival /celebration atmosphere and, local teachers, musicians, artists and small businesses will all be invited to get involved.
It is important to note that the event, in its current planned form, is subject to Covid-19 guidelines for indoor events at the time, however it can be adapted to an online platform if indoor gatherings are not permitted.
