"Twenty Views of Carlow's Past", the creation of a series of 20 short films that together celebrate and cherish the diversity of Carlow's rich history and heritage. This project aims to explore and promote the fascinating stories of Carlow's history and archaeology. As the country crosses the threshold into a new decade, this is a good opportunity to reflect on the past to think about the future. This project celebrates the idea of shared experiences over time in the place that we call Carlow. Not only will the audience become aware of the rich diversity of Carlow's Heritage attractions, but they will develop a greater appreciation of their symbolic relevance and importance in the present day and hopefully think about creative ways to support the ongoing stewardship and use of these sites.
The resultant short films will provide a versatile option for promoting Carlow's heritage to a broad audience, while striking a balance between being entertaining and thought-provoking, informative and accessible. Carlow County Museum will display the finished films in the Museum building at the heart of Carlow Town, for their near 26,000 visitors to enjoy.
