Tionscadal Logainmneacha na Scoileanna / Schools' Placenames Project

Ag fiosrú ómós agus ceangail leis an gceantar agus leis an bpobal áitiúil trí Logainmneacha agus  béaloideas. I gcomhar leis an gCoiste Logainmneacha agus ealaíontóirí aitiúla (le tacaíochta ón Oifig Ealaíon), tá an Cartlannaí agus an tOifigeach Gaeilge i gComhairle Cathrach agus Contae Phort Láirge ag obair le ceithre bhunscoil chun taiscéalaíocht chruthaithreach ar áit a chothú i measc dhaltaí Rang a 5 agus Rang a 6. Tugann sé seo deis do dhaltaí foghlaim mar gheall ar a gceantar agus a noidhreacht áitiúil féin trí dul i dteagmháil leis an bpobal, le staraithe áitiúla agus a healaíontóirí áitiúla.

Exploring a sense of place and connection to the local area and community through placesnames and folklore. In collaboration with the Coiste Logainmneacha (Placenames Committee) and local artists (with support of the Arts Office), the Archivist and Oifigeach Gaeilge in Waterford City and County Council work with four local primary schools to foster a creative exploration of place among the students of 5th and 6th class. This provides an opportunity for students to learn about their local area and heritage by engaging with members of their community, local historians and local artists.
