The Irish World Academy is delighted to announce that the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention 2021 will be happening as a virtual event, to be held 23rd to 27th June from the University of Limerick. NAFCO features traditions of fiddle music and dance from countries and communities around the North Atlantic, combining performances, workshops, and sessions, with an academic conference.\u00a0This event is a partnership between the University and Limerick City and County Council <\/span><\/span>Culture and <\/span><\/span>Arts Office and will feature performances of music and dance from Ireland, including local Limerick performers, as well as from North America and Scandinavia. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Online performances will be curated <\/span><\/span>and <\/span><\/span>streamed live from the Irish World Academy and Limerick.\u00a0This will include artists such as Frankie Gavin, Claire Egan, Sven Ahlbeck and events such as The Brendan Mulkere Memorial Concert, Academy Dance Showcase, a series of \u2018Meet the Fiddler\u2019 curated interviews \/ performances, music and dance workshops, an academic conference plus much, much more.\u00a0All will be absolutely free.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
