The Eco Showboat is a zero carbon floating environmental arts <\/span><\/span><\/span>infrastructure that aims to navigate our network of interconnected inland waterways to spark new creative collaborations<\/span><\/span><\/span> addressing climate change, fresh water ecology and biodiversity<\/span><\/span><\/span>, working closely with local artists, scientists, academics and the wider community. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Project is piloted by the School of Looking, a new organisation dedicated to cross-disciplinary arts founded by the <\/span><\/span><\/span>collaborative partnership Cleary & Connoll<\/span><\/span><\/span>y.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The project is currently in development, and its home will be <\/span><\/span><\/span>the 48 M<\/span><\/span><\/span>, an original heritage barge.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In 2020, the <\/span><\/span><\/span>Eco Showboat<\/span><\/span><\/span> Creative Collaborations<\/span><\/span><\/span> Programme will support a local artist or a creative team in Clare to develop new work in their own geographical area, that relates to climate change and that involves community engagement. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>These pieces are destined to be exhibited in the context of the ECO SHOWBOAT\u2019s inaugural expedition.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span><\/span><\/span>he aims of this programme are to: produce new work that engages with communities and that responds to the widest possible interpretation of <\/span><\/span><\/span>Climate Change<\/span><\/span><\/span> and to mobilise the creative sector to spark responses to climate change within communities.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
