{"id":11600,"date":"2020-10-28T03:02:02","date_gmt":"2020-10-28T03:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/event\/eilis-dillon-one-author-five-islands\/"},"modified":"2020-10-28T03:02:02","modified_gmt":"2020-10-28T03:02:02","slug":"galways-great-read-eilis-dillon-one-author-five-islands","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/en\/event\/galways-great-read-eilis-dillon-one-author-five-islands\/","title":{"rendered":"Galway&#8217;s Great Read: Eil\u00eds Dillon; One Author; Five Islands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><em>Eil\u00eds Dillon-One Author, Five Islands <\/em>is part of \u2018Galway&#8217;s Great Read 2020\u2019, a series of events presented by Galway Public Libraries celebrating the centenary year of one of the west of Ireland\u2019s most versatile writers.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Led by bi-lingual writer\/facilitator Sadhbh Devlin, <em>One Author; Five Islands<\/em> focuses on Dillon\u2019s children\u2019s books <em>Family of Foxes<\/em> and <em>Island Horses<\/em> as class novels in primary schools on the five islands of Inisbofin, Inis M\u00f3r, Inis Oirr, Inis Me\u00e1in and Mynish Island in County Galway during October and November 2020. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Initially planned as a series of workshops to be delivered in primary schools on the 5 islands during October, focusing on the themes, the language and the sense of place highlighted by Eil\u00eds Dillon in her novels.
