The Art Fair is a response to the current situation, a creative solution to how Luan Gallery in its capacity as the Municipal Gallery for County Westmeath may offer its support and provide access to a safe space to channel the generosity of the local community\u2014which is abundant.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Due to space limitation, the Fair will be open to creative practitioners working within 2D and small scale 3D. A<span>pplicants will be reviewed by a panel.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span>Following on from conversations with local artists and responding to the success of online initiatives such as the Artist Support Pledge, the Fair will allow Luan Gallery to trial a new initiative for supporting and promoting local arts and to connect local makers with the community. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span>An open call for participants will be issued in August. The call will be advertised online via the Luan Gallery and Athlone Arts and Tourism websites and social media channels. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span>The Art Fair will also act as a catalyst for our community\u2019s interest and energy towards change as it mobilises communities of support.
