rThe annual Children’s Book Festival, Ros na n\u00d3g, helps spread the enjoyment of books and reading among children of all ages and they will be afforded the opportunity to meet some of their favourite authors and take part in fun events throughout the county. October is the flagship month for Libraries in Ireland with a plethora of book themed events, storytelling, author and illustrator visits, scheduled across the Country.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A wide range of events will take place throughout the county with listings being available in branches and on our website here<\/a> closer to October.<\/p>\n

The festival has been running for several years now and it will continue to be a central focus for library services for young readers. It hopes to encourage reading in young people and to foster a love of books by engaging with them on a new level.<\/p>\n

Our 6\u00a0branches will be hosting events to suit all age groups, and we hope this will be one of our best years ever!!<\/p>\n

For the Children\u2019s book festival this year we plan on offering a hybrid of in house events which will be live streamed across the County.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ros Na n\u00d3g actively supports the Right to Read programme to encourage parents to enroll their children in the library from a young age so that they can enjoy books and experience the wonderful world of pictures and illustrations. It supports literacy development for individuals, families and children as part of a locally coordinated, sustainable and standard approach across the country.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
