Creevagh Art and Archaeology Collective have developed an online participatory rural community based arts project fostering creative responses to Lickeen Lake near Ennistymon, Co Clare.\u00a0The\u00a0project will highlight the cultural, ecological and mythological significance of the lake and its catchment area.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The project will involve the online facilitation of creative workshops with commissioned material targeting 3 North Clare primary and 2 secondary schools whose water comes from the Lickeen Lake supply.<\/p>\n
The project will involve 4 members of the Collective – lead artists Maria Kerin and Rachel Sweeny with Danny Burke and Deirdre Carr.\u00a0A series of performance based workshops working with the material made by the 4 artists will create a participatory performance, choreographed and directed by the lead artists as the Zoom final performance.<\/p>\n
The proposed timeline of the workshop element of the\u00a0project will begin on 22 May to mark\u00a0the International Day of Biodiversity and with a Zoom performance on 27 October – World Day of Audiovisual Heritage.
