Pipe bands are a long-standing tradition in Ireland and take\u00a0pride of place at\u00a0many important occasions. Considered to be an art form because of the level of skill required\u00a0and traditions to be upheld.\u00a0A pipe band is a community and the members are\u00a0committed to keeping the tradition alive and\u00a0fill with pride as they\u00a0come together in perfect harmony at event that is special to all those in attendance.<\/p>\n
With heritage traditions going back to its foundation in 1910 the Black Raven Pipe Band in Lusk is a strong community bank and with the support of Creative Ireland they would like\u00a0to introduce a structured\u00a0programme of learning that will\u00a0give\u00a0 existing and new\u00a0members an opportunity to prefect the art and uphold its strong traditional values\u00a0which will\u00a0not only assist in raising the band to\u00a0a higher level nationally but will also assist in securing\u00a0the\u00a0bands for many years to come.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The learning programme will be conducted by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and qualifications will be certified by the Scottish Qualification Authority.
