{"id":14884,"date":"2021-06-17T04:03:03","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T03:03:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/event\/the-ballad-of-a-care-centre\/"},"modified":"2021-06-17T04:03:03","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T03:03:03","slug":"the-ballad-of-a-care-centre","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/en\/event\/the-ballad-of-a-care-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ballad of a Care Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><span><span>The Ballad of a Care Centre is a site-specific theatre work delivered via live performance and virtual reality to previous clients of the Naas Day Care Centre.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Since 2019, John Conway has been developing his work built around the individual and collective oral histories of older people who attend the Naas Day Care Centre.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Their stories, audio recorded during an Age and Opportunity Artist in Residence programme in 2019 have, under Conway\u2019s vision, become this work of art that reconnects the day care centre residents with their memories and stories.
