The recording of the John McCormack songbook\u00a0with Ross Scanlon in collaboration with residents of Nursing\/Care Homes and clients of Purple House.\u00a0Ross will explore, interact and exchange ideas with his clients. Information packs will be distributed to everyone and all will be given the opportunity to select their favourite John McCormack song from a playlist and share their stories via video calls.\u00a0A programme will then be developed to cater to their needs and requests.\u00a0On the day of the recital,\u00a0everyone\u00a0is encouraged to sing along and\u00a0large print song lyrics will have been provided in the Information packs.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
The power of this particular music reaches people on so many different levels.\u00a0 Ross has seen first hand the impact this music has on listeners, particularly in the vulnerable, the elderly and the isolated, how singing dramatically reduces stress and\u00a0anxiety, how it improves mood, mental alertness and memory.\u00a0The\u00a0John McCormack songs that Ross will perform take people out of the present and transport them back to their youth.\u00a0It will have a huge positive impact on the audience that it reaches.\u00a0This project is an excellent means of engaging with Care\/Nursing Home residents as well as clients of Purple House, the isolated and vulnerable for whom attending a live concert at any time would prove difficult if not impossible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":16208,"template":"","class_list":["post-16207","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
