This\u00a0Arts Office’s project aims to increase awareness of available arts opportunities\u00a0which will in turn, increase arts funding levels in\u00a0Dublin’s North Central Area. Using the Art Office’s existing network of Elected Members as a starting point, we are connecting with new\u00a0artists in the\u00a0area\u00a0. We are organising a series of introductory calls in which we provide information about the funding opportunities available, as well as learning more about the artists’ respective practices.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Several discretionary grants\u00a0are being allocated following these call including support for a photographer who had primarily worked the commercial sector, namely weddings and events, prior to the pandemic but found herself returning to her artistic roots during lockdown. The grant is to document the female ‘sea swimmers’ off the Bull Wall in Clontarf, Dublin 3.<\/p>\n
Resident Associations are extremely valuable in this project, linking us with local artists working in their area. One such organisation in Donnycarney through which we work with artist Dayana Bautista who creates lovely murals in parks nearby. Dayana\u00a0is looking for support to transform the newly regenerated Mucky Lane with a series of portraits of the native flora and fauna that now occupied the space.
