Signature Sounds is a Sound Art project facilitated by Music Generation South Dublin and delivered in partnership with local South Dublin composer Robert Coleman.<\/p>\n
In late 2020 and early 2021 Robert coordinated and delivered two 4 week blocks of Sound Art workshops to children and young people participating in the Music Generation South Dublin hubs programme, introducing the young people to composition techniques that utilise the sounds that surround them in nature and within their domestic, social and educational settings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The product of those workshops was a series of miniature musical pieces, but unfortunately due to the restrictions in place at the time these compositions and graphic scores could not be performed in a live space.<\/p>\n
Signature Sounds will develop these existing pieces of music and will further introduce the young people to the idea of mixing instrumentation with electronic music.<\/p>\n
Signature Sounds will be a composition project written by young people and performed by young people toward the end of March 2022 at South-Jam live: a showcase of Music Generation South Dublin in Kingswood College.<\/p>\n
