{"id":17733,"date":"2021-11-23T03:01:38","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T03:01:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/event\/rathdrum-wellness-walks\/"},"modified":"2021-11-23T03:01:38","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T03:01:38","slug":"rathdrum-wellness-walks","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/en\/event\/rathdrum-wellness-walks\/","title":{"rendered":"Rathdrum &#8216;Wellness Walks&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><span>Rathdrum \u2018Wellness Walks\u2019 is a series of 4 walks taking place in the Rathdrum area .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>The \u2018wellness walks\u2019 are physically beneficial and are also developed to help people relax in the outdoors, experience an activity in a group, encourage people to look at surroundings in a way they may not have been aware of, and integrate poetry and music into people\u2019s everyday life experiences.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>The walks are gentle and the experience will be inclusive. The walks are led by poet Jane Clarke who has extensive facilitation and community engagement experience. The events will include poetry and discussions about the landscape and nature. Musician James will provide music on the walks.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>The walks are 3km &#8211; 5km, will be moderate in pace, and with a duration of 1 \u00bd hours.\u00a0 A steward will accompany the walkers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>The walks are designed for adults of any age and have moderate terrain underfoot; they are not suitable for buggies or toddlers, but babies in slings are welcome.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>This is a free initiative but booking is essential. Participants can register to join one or all of the walks.
