Laois County Council Heritage Office and Creative Ireland Laois are programming a series of workshops <\/span><\/span>for <\/span><\/span>the Laois Festival of Flight <\/strong><\/span><\/span>(April 7-10 ) in Portlaoise. <\/span><\/span><\/strong>We are seeking artists that work in a range of diverse media to design, manage and deliver workshops <\/span><\/span>that will inspire children and young people to creatively and imaginatively respond to the theme of \u2018flight\u2019. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The broad theme for the workshop programme is \u2018Flights of Fancy\u2019. We require proposals that respond to the \u2018flight\u2019 motif in a creative and imaginative way and\u00a0are seeking creative facilitators from broad and diverse media.\u00a0We require creative facilitators to deliver workshops for children and young people in a range of age categories: Ages 4 \u2013 16 and<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0welcome proposals from facilitators who can deliver workshops aimed at children with specific special needs (eg. Autism).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Your proposal should\u00a0describe\u00a0clearly what\u00a0workshop\u00a0participants will create<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Will each child\/young person create an individual piece of work to take home?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Or will the workshop group\u00a0together create an installation\u00a0made up of their individual pieces of work?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Laois Festival of Flight is organised by the Col James Fitzmaurice Commemoration Committee in partnership with Laois Heritage Society,\u00a0Music Generation Laois, Dunamaise Arts Centre, and Midlands Science.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
