A project bringing poetry into public spaces Poetry in the Park will see installations curated and scheduled by the libraries, supported and installed by the staff of the Parks and Recreation Department in:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Clogheenmilcon Walkway, Blarney<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Jerry O\u2019Sullivan Park, Harbour View Road<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The Marina, Blackrock<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Fitzgerald\u2019s Park, City centre<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Tramore Valley Park<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Ballincollig regional Park<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These parks include the north and southside of the city, the city centre and the \u2018new\u2019 city area and attract 3 million visitors annually. The programme brings poetry to people in their everyday lives, creating a sense of community, awareness and celebration of the vibrant literary life of the Cork City.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Established and award winning poets are placed alongside emerging poets, young poets and intercultural voices celebrating the diversity of life and literature in the city.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    In 2022 the installations will reflect festivals and events in the city by presenting new works including<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    • Irish language poetry for SnaG<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Works of poets participating in Cork World Book Fest in April<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • LGBTI+ works; Awareness Festival in May<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Young Voices from The Unfinished Book of Poetry for Cruinni\u00fa ns n\u00f3g in June<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Seasonal in July<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Heritage in August<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Supporting Culture Night in September<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • CBF in October<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Cork Words new work in November<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Winter in December<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The poetry will support\u00a0 Munster Literature Centre, \u00d3 Bh\u00e9al, Cork City Libraries, UCC and others.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
