CROWNED<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Exploring Black Hair Culture in Mayo Diaspora communities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Crowned project in Mayo will follow the model already created for Crown in the Traveller community and the African Diaspora in Co Offaly. It will consist of:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. A series of workshops will take place (15 workshops)<\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u00a0They can take place in person and by zoom also when necessary.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Each project takes on its own unique journey because of the different\u00a0people involved.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The conversations will be documented by video \u2013 a documentary style piece will be made. This will involve short video pieces and a main documentary piece at the end of the project.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. A photo shoot will take place to produce a collection of portraits.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. The Mayo Crowned Project will become part of our website documenting this compelling and important subject with minority cultures in our county.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Opportunities for exhibitions nationally will be explored.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  7. The project will take place over a 5-6 month period.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
