We\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span>will explore the many ways to inhabit contemporary womanhood, and the echoes of complex Irish women, such as St Brigid, throughout our history. This event will include poetry readings and discussions of history, nature and how the past prints itself onto the present. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>These events are facilitated by Rosamund Taylor, whose debut poetry collection, In Her Jaws<em>,<\/em> is published by Banshee Press. Widely published, her poetry has been recorded for BBC and RTE radio, and her essays and articles have appeared in Banshee, The Irish Times, The Stinging Fly and The Trumpet. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Poetry at the LexIcon has run since 2019 and\u00a0featured some of the best contemporary poets writing in English, including T.S. Eliot award-winning Raymond Antrobus, Costa Book of the Year winner Hannah Lowe, Forward Prize winners Will Harris and Stephen Sexton, and Victoria Kennefick, winner of the Seamus Heaney Award for Best First Collection. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>2023 will continue to feature a range of exciting poets, including new and upcoming writers, as well as established poets. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>This pre-recorded event will be available to view online via the DLR YouTube channel. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Advance booking is required via eventbrite in order to receive the event link.
