The Armagh Rhymers are an internationally renowned troop of performers who celebrate the ancient Irish folk theatre of the Wren Boys and Mummers who entertained people in their homes across Ireland for centuries. The concept behind each mask originates from a character in a mummer\u2019s play or performance.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>It is their philosophy that every young person has a right to experience live music, drama and the arts as part of their education. They encourage a high level of participation from the students in drama, music and storytelling. A major focus of their work is to promote tolerance and understanding through education.\u00a0They put a great emphasis on social engagement, identity and working within a group.\u00a0 Their workshops and performances are designed to cover many aspects of the school curriculum, and they offer an \u2018always on\u2019 educational calendar with a new theme every month. They can also tailor projects to cover specific topics. Their performances help the students develop music and arts appreciation, confidence through performance and important social skills.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
