This scheme allows anyone to borrow an instrument free of charge and try it out before making a potentially expensive purchase.<\/p>\n<p>An instrument can be ordered by placing a request at your local branch\/mobile library.<br \/>\nHave you longed to learn a musical instrument but didn\u2019t want to commit to the purchase of an expensive instrument in case it didn\u2019t suit you?<\/p>\n<p>\u2018A Sound Initiative\u2019 is a program intended to allow people to test their skills on a particular instrument before investing a significant amount of money on an instrument of their own.<\/p>\n<p>An instrument can be ordered by placing a request at your local branch of Cork County Library. Instruments may be borrowed for up to 3 weeks and may be renewed if no-one else has placed a request for it.<br \/>\nDonations of musical instruments are greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme has proven very popular with waiting lists for many of the instruments and over 700 loans to date.
