Ocean and Sea <\/em>is a community environmental awareness project based in the Kilkee, County Clare.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Local interest groups will work with artist Jackie McGrath to create a site specific soundscape which will begin at the top of the cliff walk on the west end of Kilkee Bay and finish at Georges Head at the east end of Kilkee Bay. This podcast soundscape will examine how sea swimmers and scuba divers interact with our oceans, highlighting the importance of protecting the ocean and sea life.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The project will consist of a series of citizen science workshops where<\/span>\u00a0samples of sea water and seaweed will be collected and tested.\u00a0<\/span>The data collected will contribute to podcasted conversations around impact and civic and governmental responsibility around our public bodies of water, drawing attention to it through the lens of community based users both above and below the water. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

These recordings will be presented as a soundscape walk that will bring local awareness to the water environment and habitats within the public spaces of the rivers that meet the ocean.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
