\u2018The Fire in Me Now\u2019 is a series of writing and art workshops and discussions championing the older artist and engaging and facilitating creative expression for positive ageing through poetry and visual art.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>A group of interested people will come together and partake in a series of workshops with writer and poet Ron Carey and art therapist Margaret Curran.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the end, it is envisaged that the workshop participants will have created a poem and a piece of visual art, inspired by the artists involved. We hope to raise the awareness that its never too late for the artist to emerge.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The project will culminate in a reading and discussion event celebrating the older artist at the Mountshannon Arts Festival at 2:00 pm on 4 June\u00a0 2023. This event is free to attend with the Festival Wristband. More information here:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
