The project is in homage to the old tradition of \u2018going on cuaird\u2019; a practice which centres on respectful listening to and conversation with the elders of a community.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span>Cuimhneamh an Chl\u00e1ir also host a series of public events to share the archive with the public. These events are designed to<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span>\u00a0encourage people to engage with oral heritage in creative ways and to allow it to inform their sense of identity, history and culture.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span>The vision of Cuimhneamh an Chl\u00e1ir is to \u2018connect communities and nurture creativity through Clare\u2019s shared oral heritage\u2019. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span>Some events planned as part of the 2023 public programme:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span>Audio visual exhibition of old crafts and skills (in collaboration with \u2018Our Common Knowledge\u2019) for the Rekindle Festival in Ennistymon<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span>Community sharing night of oral histories newly recorded in the communities of Doolin and Moher<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span>Oral histories of the Old Forge in Kilnamona and skills demonstration<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span>Celebrations of National Heritage Group Mentoring Scheme, initiated by Cuimhneamh an Chl\u00e1ir in 2023<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span><span>Public event marking \u2018Reminiscence Circles\u2019 scheme with selected Co.
