{"id":25510,"date":"2023-06-20T03:03:15","date_gmt":"2023-06-20T02:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/event\/creative-initiatives-for-children-with-complex-needs-anna-newell\/"},"modified":"2023-06-20T03:03:15","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T02:03:15","slug":"creative-initiatives-for-children-with-complex-needs-anna-newell","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/en\/event\/creative-initiatives-for-children-with-complex-needs-anna-newell\/","title":{"rendered":"Creative Initiatives for Children with Complex Needs  &#8211; Anna Newell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><span><span><span>\u2018The Sound Of Things\u2019 is a creative consultation project towards the development of a new show for children with complex needs.\u00a0 It brings together an experienced team comprised of children\u2019s practitioner Anna Newell together with her long-term collaborators, performers Muireann D\u2019Arcy, Fiona McGarry, composer David Goodall in residency at St Catherine\u2019s Special School, Co Wicklow.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Exploring immersive, responsive sound\/voice and re-connecting with touch post-Covid, it starts a journey towards a new theatrical language for a show for 2025.\u00a0 Between 6 and 10 creative consultations will be carried out with special needs pupils and staff at St.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Catherine\u2019s Special School. The practical structure of the week would see an initial coming together of the collaborators on the first day and each subsequent day would see at least 2 creative consultation sessions with very small groups of children\/young people and their teaching\/support staff interspersed with the artistic collaborators reflecting and responding.
