\u2018River Songs\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/em> intends to deliver a suite of poems\/prose pieces based on the significance of rivers in the lives of our midlands\u2019 communities.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Liminal spaces, moving between one flow and another, one moment to the next; they bless us with healing energies.<\/p>\n

We fish them, picnic beside them, mould ourselves into their grassy banks. They irrigate, nourish, awaken our senses, replenish our holistic selves with lyrical riches.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018River Songs\u2019 allows for mythopoeia, the creation of their own unique mythologies. The Camcor is associated with croneen, (sea) trout who, ironically, have never been to sea. The life cycle of the croneen is part of County Offaly Heritage. \u2018River Songs\u2019 honours this association. \u2018River Songs\u2019, in association with Mark Ulysses, editor\/publisher \u2018Live Encounters\u2019, intends to create a full colour publication to include art images and photography. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This process allows for engagement with children in St Brendan\u2019s NS and also Mercy Primary NS which are the childhood schools of poet, Eileen Casey. \u2018River Songs\u2019 will \u2018fish\u2019 for lines from children (the best poets in the world) which will be incorporated into a long poem. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
