Our clients are a marginalised cohort, who have experienced long-term entrenched homelessness, and find it challenging to access mainstream opportunities, i.e. art therapy classes in the museum, Autumn 2022. This client cohort, who have come through homeless services over many years, tend to have experienced long-term and often severe social exclusion, struggle with how they are perceived in the community, and how they fit in with others. \u00a0This can be compounded by physical or mental health challenges, and they will typically have experienced varying degrees of traumatic life events, all of which creates a negative effect on their engagement with community-based and social activities.<\/p>\n
A collaboration with The Red Door Art Therapy would facilitate confidence building and social connection through individual one-to-one art therapy classes\/sessions over the Summer & Autumn 2023 for our clients. \u00a0We have seen positive one-to-one engagements like these art sessions, transforming people who are exceptionally isolate to become more engaged with other things as it breaks down the fear and self-doubt.
