{"id":27546,"date":"2023-10-24T03:03:18","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T02:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/event\/the-plassey-project\/"},"modified":"2023-10-24T03:03:18","modified_gmt":"2023-10-24T02:03:18","slug":"the-plassey-project","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/en\/event\/the-plassey-project\/","title":{"rendered":"The Plassey Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">Through this project Rusted Rail will sample the landscape and convert it into a \u201csonic postcard\u201d of Inis Oirr while also weaving in local history and folk memories surrounding the wrecking of the MV Plassey as musical inspirations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">The artist is inspired by direct engagement with landscape, which he captures through field recordings that he uses as building blocks to create pieces of music.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">This project will preserve the history and the sounds of the MV Plassey for generations to come.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">The finished project will be presented as a sound piece accompanied by video footage at \u00c1ras \u00a0\u00c9anna, Europe&#8217;s most westerly Arts Centre, located on Inis Oirr.
