Theatre company Super Paua, under the leadership of creative producer Heather Rose, are developing a new show to tour to rural schools. The show is titled Museum of Believing, and explores cultural objects whose value comes from what people believe about them. In autumn 2023, with support from Roscommon County Council, Heather undertook to research specific cultural items and, with support from designer Sin\u00e9ad O\u2019Donnell-Carey, gathered some sample objects to bring into a development space. In September, four days of development took place at Cloonloo Hall on the Roscommon\/Sligo border with performer\/devisers Miriam Needham and Julie Sharkey, exploring the characters for the show as well as ideas for the style and plot structure of the piece. The work was extremely productive, and the skeleton of a story is now in place. The next stage of development will take place with support from an Arts Council Arts Grant and support from Roscommon County Council Creative Ireland Programme, developing first the space in which the story will be told (a sort of travelling museum that will fit into rural schools) and then the show itself, in collaboration with several rural schools, as it will be an interactive piece engaging directly with the children<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":27759,"template":"","class_list":["post-27758","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
