Forget me not choir is a well-established event that meets twice a month. Initially founded to support people with Alzheimer\u2019s & dementia, it now welcomes service users & people from all walks of life.<\/p>\n
Musician AnneMarie Hynes and Maura O’Brien, with a support team of volunteers from Monksland Community Centre, Athlone, will lead the choir in twice monthly meetings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We are using song, music, and movement as a medium to bring people together and sing for wellness and fun. Young people will be invited to join throughout the Summer, to further enrich our diversity and social cohesion.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The choir has been shown to be enriching for individual services users and their carers who attend. Numbers continue to grow, showing the need for this type of community project.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The choir meet in Monksland, on the border of Westmeath and Roscommon. They are supported by both counties Creative Ireland teams, and members from both regions are welcome to join.\u00a0<\/p>\n
