It is only when communities are empowered to speak for themselves, to tell their own stories and challenge existing perspectives and beliefs, that empathy can provide a genuine platform for lasting social change. \u00a0Through the project we aim to raise awareness &amp; reduce the stigma that is often associated with homelessness and take a targeted upstream approach to homeless prevention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">Healthy Louth will collaborate on this project with Louth Local Development Company (SICAP) and work with a selection of participants from a range of services that work with homeless persons:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">A male living in Direct Provision;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">A woman living in the women&#8217;s refuge centre;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">A family living in Peter McVerry House;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">A homeless man living in Simon Community<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">The Project Coordinator will meet with each participant to outline the initiative&#8217;s remit, their expected input and secure their agreement to become involved and each participant will be provided with individual and\/or group sessions with an Art Therapist and a Growth Mindset Therapist to discuss their reality, their challenges and the stigma of their situation.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":29813,"template":"","class_list":["post-29812","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Step into my World - Empowering Homeless Voices Through Art - Creative Ireland Programme<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"This project seeks to deepen collaboration between Creative Ireland &amp; Healthy Ireland while empowering people who have experienced homelessness to tell their own stories.\" \/>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/en\/event\/step-into-my-world-empowering-homeless-voices-through-art\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Step into my World - Empowering Homeless Voices Through Art - Creative Ireland Programme\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"This project seeks to deepen collaboration between Creative Ireland &amp; Healthy Ireland while empowering people who have experienced homelessness to tell their own stories.
