Excitement is building for our two Festival concerts planned for Friday night and Saturday afternoon.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Camlin Keys Festival opens in St John\u2019s Church on Friday 5th July at 7pm with award-winning Athlone A Cappella, a close harmony ladies barbershop chorus and in the Barber shop tradition the emphasis is on close, carefully arranged 4-part harmony with ragtime and nostalgic song styles.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Athlone A Cappella will be joined by Longford\u2019s own Wings of Ukraine.\u00a0 Set up as part of a National Ukrainian choir to join Phil Coulter last year, Wing\u2019s of Ukraine has continued meeting and singing together in Longford.\u00a0 Also traveling will be Moate’s Sing4Fun Ubuntu Voices, an\u00a0intercultural and intergenerational choir formed for the joy of singing together.\u00a0 The three choirs will be singing both as\u00a0individual\u00a0groups and a couple of pieces all together, with a mix up of music from many genres of music including pop, choral, gospel and traditional folk songs, so a lively and happy evening promised!<\/p>\n
On the Saturday, our afternoon Family Concert, will open with performances from our morning class entrants, then Athenias, Ariane-Eugenie and Aristide Selve, fresh from accomplishing many commendations in the RDS Feis Ceoil,\u00a0will play violin, followed by Lenny Chen, returning to us from Boyle, will play the piano, closing with Lenny, Aristide and Ath\u00e9na\u00eds playing 6 hands on the piano!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":31009,"template":"","class_list":["post-31008","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
