Things in Bowls \u2013 Roscommon\u2019 \u2013 delving into our county and honouring
the diverse talents hidden in it.<\/p>\n
The concept behind Things in Bowls is they are everyday objects – this collection will encourage you to look at what is inside and around the pieces. The primary focus is allowing old and existing stories be brought to life through sculpture. Through
research, production and an exhibition. Things in Bowls will allow public engagement on many levels.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Firstly, seeing the creative practice that occurs prior to making, secondly to connect with
stories in their locality, lastly to facilitate partnership development. When looking into the bowls, a whole story unfolds. This project opens opportunities for continued growth and development as an artist.<\/p>\n
The bowls will be exhibited on Culture Night 2024. Each bowl will sit on locally, sustainably
harvested wood, creating a small plinth. Each piece of wood will tell its own story. Beside each bowl will be photos and text highlighting various elements contained within.<\/p>\n
Artist Ciara Goodwin will connect with a group of parents Home Educating their children. I will delve into their own motivations for alternative education and discovering what community means to those choosing a different path and with Volunteer Roscommon, seeing the impact it has on local community, learning how different cultures and nationalities blend into Roscommon with focus on an overall story rather than specific individuals, highlighting the broad spectrum of work done<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":32171,"template":"","class_list":["post-32170","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
