This Creative Ireland funding will ensure the retention and development of Sphere Youth Theatre on a 4-day week basis.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Following an area based research exploring cultural provision in the North-Central Administrative Area of Dublin City Council it was decided that investment was needed in the cultural landscape of the area. Our investment in Sphere Youth Theatre is an attempt to respond to this need within the underserved communities of Darndale and Kilbarrack.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The work of the Sphere Youth Theatre can be categorised as follows:\u00a0<\/p>\n
I. Sphere Youth Theatre\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Twice weekly workshops, and minimum 1 showcase and 1 performance per annum\u00a0<\/p>\n II. Drama facilitation workshops\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Workshops in local schools and youth centres (target of 8 local secondary schools & 4 local youth centres)<\/p>\n III. Collaboration opportunities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Links with other theatres and opportunities (The Axis theatre, Youth Theatre Ireland, Dublin Youth Theatre, and The Gate Theatre)<\/p>\n \u00a0\u2022 Collaborations with CPD, local events (Darndale Festival, Halloween events)\u00a0<\/p>\n IV. Capacity building and sustainability\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Further development of the Sphere Youth Theatre \u2013 programme, membership, and governance<\/p>\n \u2022 Developing new local leaders\/facilitators – a focus on young people becoming facilitators<\/p>\n \u00a0\u2022 Using youth theatre\/drama to provide insights or as a communication medium<\/p>\n \u00a0\u2022 Participating in national\/regional events e.g. Cruinniu na n\u2019Og & DIFF (Dublin International Film Festival).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":32498,"template":"","class_list":["post-32497","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
