Kids\u2019 Own and Sligo Children\u2019s Community Garden will work in partnership to develop a new project, Sprouting Seeds, a programme of creative activities and workshops for a core group of 20 children (aged 5-12) at Sligo CCG, facilitated by professional artists and writers. \u00a0We are particularly excited to partner on this project, which will develop and offer the first engagement programme for children in the Story Shed space (an initiative previously funded by Creative Sligo). In addition to working with professional artists, Kids\u2019 Own will engage an associate writer to work with the group, encouraging conversation, story sharing and storytelling; this is the first time Sligo CCG\u2019s young members will work with a professional writer, which will further emphasise the Story Shed as a shared community space for creative storytelling. Following a workshop series, the project will culminate in the publication and launch of a unique and beautiful booklet of children\u2019s artwork, writing and reflections on themes of environment, biodiversity and community, among others. The booklet will serve as a celebration of the Story Shed\u2019s beginnings and inaugural project, but also a way to share and value the children\u2019s work among their families, friends, and wider community.
