This Shared Island initiative is sponsored by the Irish government and funded by Creative Ireland through Fingal County Council. The project spans two years &#8211; 2024\/25 &#8211; where we create and nurture connections with these choir members, North and South, through singing, music, poetry, shared creative learning and public performances in both communities. The project will include the commission of two new songs, inspired by all choir members, which will be performed on both sides of the border and captured in a shared memory book.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In advance of being able to bring the two choirs together, members have enjoyed meeting each other over Zoom on Friday mornings by leveraging the existing \u2018Silver Linings\u2019 music and song appreciation sessions. &nbsp;This early introduction to each other has helped participants kindle friendships as people recognise things they have in common and share songs they love to sing. The Musical Directors of both choirs have worked together to agree on a song list with new musical arrangements, and will work independently and together to rehearse and get \u2018performance ready\u2019.
