This film will tell the story of the rich Irish herbal tradition of Gaelic Ireland, which was all but forgotten with the collapse of the Gaelic order in the late 17th century. Much of the focus will be on the manuscripts that survive from this lost world in the keeping of the libraries of the Royal Irish Academy, the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies and Trinity College Dublin, together with site visits to a number of locations in the midlands associated with the medieval hereditary physicians. <\/p>\n
