Neven Lahart, Vera Klute, Laura Angell and Terry Markey have all confirmed their participation. Local artists will also be invited to showcase how humour is embedded in regional storytelling and artistic expression throughout the exhibition. (For example, Terry Markey has created a video piece for the exhibition with the input of local comedians.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Laura Angell draws from her experiences with social media and the gulf between the online self and offline reality. Her sculptures take inspiration from porcelain ornaments she sees in others&#8217; homes and conversations about social media.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Vera Klute\u2019s work<\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">demonstrates the absurd in the everyday. Her taxidermied birds are posed as if in their last moments, with comical word balloons in acrylic, emphasising the moment of impact.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Terry Markey is investigating the construction of comedy and the art of telling a joke in his video work for the exhibition.
