This project came about from feedback at the end of Ballygawley Music Festival 2024. It was felt by many that there should be a space where artists (existing or starting) can be provided with a platform for showcasing their talent. Whilst Ballygawley Music Festival continues to grow, there is a realisation that there is little opportunity for local and emerging talent to take part in the event.<\/p>\n

The objective of this project is to give musicians\/artists an opportunity and also a space to showcase their music and talent but also to give them a platform for their work in County Sligo.<\/p>\n

\u2022    This will be a collaborative project between Ballygawley Community Park and Ocean FM. This project team will engage with local music networks prior to the project, music generation, local music schools, music tutors and artists across Sligo.<\/p>\n

What the project will involve:
\u2022    Open music call for one person or two person acts. To showcase an original piece of music or a cover version.
\u2022    That 6-7 artists\/bands will be shortlisted to perform live on Ocean FM, Seamus Mc Manus Show. One finalist will be showcased weekly. Starting Wednesday 5th June.
\u2022    That each artist live performance would be videoed and released on the Ocean       FM\/Ballygawley Music Festival social media platforms.
\u2022    That the winner chosen will perform live at Ballygawley Music Festival on one           night 18-20th July 2025 and with a headline act (subject to agreement)
