This summer, the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) & 12th Field will present Bog Bothy, a new timber shelter, co-created with communities in Offaly, Louth & Meath. <\/p>\n

This is the conclusion of 3 years of architecture-focused community climate action, prompting a tour & summer of celebration of Ireland\u2019s peatlands through architecture, design & community storytelling, exploring how we can sustainably engage with these landscapes into the future. <\/p>\n

The tour continues in Girley Bog, Meath, on the occasion of National Heritage Week, with the Bothy, exhibition, resident artist & a public programme on 16th-17th August.<\/p>\n

Tour and Programme: <\/strong>Public workshops, tours, & performances across climate action, architecture & future heritage.<\/p>\n

Bothy:<\/strong> A purpose-built shelter & gathering space for deep engagement with the bog that builds on the design language of Ireland\u2019s peatlands. <\/p>\n

Exhibition: <\/strong>A curated exploration of labour, trace & climate in the bog lands – exploring the bog as both a historical archive & a future landscape. <\/p>\n

Artist in Residence: <\/strong>Creative embedded in the landscape to create new work that responds to the peatlands & its people, & the Bog Bothy project through deep engagement. <\/p>\n\n\n
