The Maria Edgeworth Festival, now in its 30th year in Edgeworthstown, is a community-based celebration encompassing a wide array of artistic disciplines, including poetry, short stories, storytelling, music, visual arts, wellbeing, and performing arts such as comedy. The festival brings together a mix of professional and amateur participants.
Organised by a dedicated core committee of volunteers, with additional support from other community organisations. The committee collaborates closely with the town\u2019s new community library, making use of its facilities and event spaces, in addition to other local venues and businesses.
The festival aims to honour the legacy of Maria Edgeworth while fostering engagement with literature and the creative arts both locally and nationally. It strives to be as inclusive as possible, catering to diverse age groups.
