This banner was made by a local resident James Nevin in 1917. &nbsp;The banner was paraded up the Hill of Tara on the 25th and 50th State anniversary and is currently held in a standing display cabinet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>James Nevin was the local tailor for Moynalty and surrounding areas. The Nevin family dates to the 1600&#8217;s in Moynalty and many of them are still in the area. The Moynalty Steam Threshing Committee will undertake a project that will involve conducting interviews with his descendants and community members to create an oral history of James Nevin and the banner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They will host an event &nbsp;on Saturday 23rd August for Heritage Week. The event will open with a brief talk on the history of James Nevin and the purpose and content of the project. They will have the oral recordings available and invite members of the Nevin family to attend. There will be a slideshow of the history of the Nevin family in Moynalty as well as the history of the Nevin family on display.
