At the end of the National Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023,  which recalled events that shaped the country from 1912-1923, St Ultan\u2019s Historical Society decided to look locally and see what happened to local people and the community during that period.<\/p>\n

The findings were quite diverse from tragedy, to success on the sporting fields. The group feel the stories need to be told today and remembered by their families and neighbours as their actions may have helped shape the fabric of the community in many ways.<\/p>\n

They plan to bring together almost 30 stories of local interest from the period 1912-1923  into a published book. They will also engage a graphic designer to work with the society in the design of this publication. <\/p>\n

As part of Heritage Week, the Society will host three events:
1.    A walk down Brady\u2019s and Callaghan\u2019s Lane.
2.    Display of documents from the Craig Waller owned by Allenstown House.
3.    Rare documents from Dublin Castle from a local drainage contractor during 1870-1900.<\/p>\n
