In 2021 Cork Printmakers and Cork Migrant Centre identified a need for continued support of older teenagers and\/or young adults from migrant, refugee or asylum-seeking backgrounds who have displayed exceptional creative talent, but who were not served by existing programmes. YPC provides training and mentorship to the participants in all areas of printmaking and professional creative practice.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Initially with 6 members, the programme has now grown to 9 members. The participants develop their work with the support of Cork Printmakers staff and tutors through ongoing training and independent practice. They are integrated into the professional artist studio setting. The programme offers space for creative development but also a source of stability and empowerment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The overarching goal of the YPC is to allow and enable members to develop as independent artists with self-sustaining practices, creating high-quality work with a viable career path.
