Building on the positive impact of our 2024 Music in the Moment programme D\u00fan Laoghaire-Rathdown is delighted to be bringing this programme to residential care settings in the county again in 2025. <\/p>\n

Music in the Moment provides high quality and highly responsive music experiences that aim to have a positive impact on the lives of older people, their families and healthcare professionals. Sessions include active and passive engagement, including listening and singing. It encourages group participation and social interaction, and includes one family\/community concert per
setting.<\/p>\n

In 2025 we are thrilled to be collaborating with highly skilled musicians \/ musical groups Ruair\u00ed O’Shea, Eamon Sweeney and Lisa McGuinness, Newpark Music Academy, and Gerald Peregrine’s Mobile Music Machine, who are delivering 6 interactive music performances in each setting. We are thrilled to partner with 5 settings across dlr, St. Joseph’s Centre, Shankill,<\/span> Dalkey Community Unit, Glebe House, Kilternan, Foxrock Nursing Home and The Four Ferns Nursing Home, Foxrock . <\/span><\/p>\n

An exciting addition to our 2025 programme is a mentoring opportunity for 2 musicians to shadow the process, with built in mentoring led by highly experienced musicians Dr Eamon Sweeney and Lisa McGuinness.<\/p>\n
